Podcast Editor & Producer for PC Magazine

PC Magazine's 'PCMag After Hours' was an emerging podcast that I engineered and produced on a monthly basis.

MORE DETAILS:

This episode was recorded in a sound-treated studio with the host and guests using headset condenser microphones. I set up the studio, operated a multichannel mixing console, and recorded the show live in Pro Tools. I then used Pro Tools and Adobe Audition to enhance sound quality, edit, mix, and master the show.

NOTE: The opening of this episode is meant to emulate a phone call. I applied this effect in post production.

FOR THIS PROJECT I:

  • Set up headset microphones & adjusted monitoring

  • Set up & operated the multichannel mixing console

  • Recorded & edited the entire show

  • Balanced EQ & compression

  • Edited out mistakes & long pauses

  • Added in the intro, outro, & promo

  • Mixed, mastered, and normalized loudness

  • Exported the file at the specified format

  • ID3 tagged the file with metadata

  • Published the show

EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Ableton Live

  • Pro Tools

  • Adobe Audition

  • Audix HT2 headset condenser microphones

  • Multichannel mixing console
